Here is the latest edition of Brands Moves as we take a look at the latest moves behind brands we know and some that are just entering the market.


AthletaRetailer Athleta, part of Gap announced they will adding five new Canadian stores in 2022.  The brand refers to itself as “purpose-driven brand with a powerful mission to empower women and girls to realize their limitless potential.”  Aiming to capitalize on their Q1 growth which exceeded expectations by over 40% as brand awareness continued to rise with a combination of new product offerings, localized marketing and events with the launch o fAlicia Keys and Simone Biles collections, and partnership with the Toronto Six Women’s professional hockey team.


Beaver CanoeMeghan Roach, President & CEO of Roots has announced the fashion retailer will relaunch its Beaver Canoe brand as part of its 40th anniversary celebrations.  The Beaver Canoe brand was reintroduced a decade ago as part of its 30th anniversary, and at that time was sold under licence to Target Canada.
