Quebecor Inc. announced today that Françoise Bertrand has been appointed to the position of Chair of its Board of Directors. Ms. Bertrand has been a member of the Board since 2003. She is also Chair of the Compensation Committee and a member of the Corporate Governance Committee. The appointment is effective immediately.
“A consensus quickly emerged around Françoise as the new Chair of Quebecor’s Board,” said the Vice Chairman of the Board, the Right Honourable Brian Mulroney, P.C, C.C., LL.D. “She has an exceptional track record and strong moral authority. Françoise has already demonstrated a tremendous capacity to work very productively with the other members of the Board and with the Company’s senior management.”
Françoise Bertrand is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec (FCCQ). She previously distinguished herself as Chairperson of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission and Chief Executive Officer of the Société de radio-télévision du Québec (Radio-Québec). She also served as Dean, Resource Management, of Université du Québec à Montréal. She sits on numerous charitable committees and is active in many associations.
