Canada’s top retailer, Future Shop is teaming up with LG Canada to launch “Hockey Challenge,” a contest where hockey fans get to battle for some cool prizes.  Future Shop’s marketing team worked Smak Inc. and Pound & Grain to develop the campaign.

There are three ways to score in the Future Shop Hockey Challenge. The first, “Block the Puck,” allows players to experience goal-tending and must save 20 shots before earning enough points to unlock the next challenge, “Deke the D.” In this next challenge, players must navigate through defenders and skate over 1,000 meters to unlock the final challenge. “Crack the Screen” invites players to wind-up their best shots and crack a TV screen by shooting pucks using the power meter. Players are encouraged to replay challenges to amass the most points to place among the top 10 scores on the Hockey Challenge leader board.

For three consecutive weeks, players with the top 10 scores on the Leaderboard are entered in a random draw to win a LG 47” LW5600 Cinema 3D LED Smart TV. Future Shop’s mark two grand prize packages up for grabs, each consisting of the following:

  • LG 55” LW 5600 Cinema TV
  • LG 3D 5.1 surround sound home theatre system
  • Choice of a TV stand or mount
  • HDMI cable
  • Installation by ConnectPro Experts

The contest will also leverage Facebook and Twitter to entice hockey and tech fans to play the Hockey Challenge, and support it through weekly flyers. Players can boast their progress and challenge friends to beat their scores in the game by using a specialized Facebook badge or link to Twitter.

The Hockey Challenge puck officially drops on Friday, March 23, 2012 via www.futureshop.ca/hockeychallenge and lasts through Thursday, April 12, 2012.
