Last week we reported that Rogers was laying off as many as 300 hundred employees, CBC also announced it was going to be cutting back its head count post 2012 Federal budget, but now Sarah Lacy is reporting Yahoo will be cutting tomorrow.  This really isn’t a surprise, Scott Thompson did warn that cuts were coming, and he has also said that “Real Change” is coming to Yahoo, but we don’t know how bad it will be on this side of the border.  Years ago Yahoo cut most of its engineering staff here in Canada, and the bulk of what is left are people on the sales side, if we were to estimate their total head count in Canada would be around 50 employees.  We’ll keep you posted as we learn more on the story.
