WIND Mobile Appoints Pietro Cordova As Chief Operating Officer

WIND Mobile is looking to take a new direction as the company has appointed its Chief Operating Officer (COO). Pietro succeeds Gianluca Corti, who will assume responsibility for the consumer business unit of Wind Telecomunicazioni. The strategic transition will ensure that both companies are well-positioned for success within the VimpelCom Ltd. family.

Pietro will help ensure continued momentum in the Canadian marketplace. Before joining WIND in 2005, Cordova held senior leadership roles with the Atlantia Group and Telecom Italia. Cordova also understands the nuances of the Canadian market, having lived in Toronto from 1991 until 1998 while working in major financial institutions.
