As we reported yesterday, the interweb were talking about the possible acquisition of Seesmic by HootSuite, and today the deal has been completed. No financial details of the deal have been disclosed and Seesmic Fouder Loïc Le Meur has said he will stay on board to help make the transition of Seesmic users over to HootSuite’s platform. Since their start HootSuite has grown to over 5 million global users spanning six continents, who send over 1.5 million messages through the dashboard each day. Seesmic was founded in 2008 and has also enjoyed a steady growth.
“We’ve always been big fans of Ryan Holmes and the HootSuite team, since the days we were all pioneering the Social Media landscape.” says Seesmic CEO, Loïc Le Meur. “We’re thrilled today to announce that Seesmic is joining HootSuite, and we’re excited for our users: they are becoming part of the HootSuite family, and they will be able to continue to build their brand and social business.”
As they make the transition, HootSuite will be offering Seesmic users the opportunity to try the HootSuite Pro account for a free 30 day trial.
