Entertainment provider Cineflix Media recently appointed Andrew Akman to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer of Cineflix Media. As part of the role, Andrew will be responsible for overseeing the company’s corporate operations, information technology, and post-production. He is also responsible for setting up and overseeing the operations of partnerships and acquisitions. Andrew is based in Cineflix’s Toronto office and reports directly to Co-CEOs Katherine Buck and Glen Salzman.
Most recently he was with Shaw Media and worked as VP, Planning where he oversaw strategic planning and business integration activities. Previous to that at Canwest Broadcasting as SVP & Chief Administrative Officer, he was responsible for the integration of the Alliance Atlantis broadcasting assets, and oversaw corporate operations. Prior to that at Alliance Atlantis Communications as SVP Corporate Development and Investor Relations, he had a key role in capital market transactions, mergers and acquisitions and oversight of the company’s day-to-day relationships with analysts and investors.
