It is no secret that Waterloo has some of the best engineering talent in Canada, so when mobile payment Square started to look north for a new office they set up a Canadian office in the Waterloo area, which is often referred to as Canada’s Technology Triangle.
Feridun Hamdullahpur, University of Waterloo’s President and Vice-Chancellor commented on the move saying, “As the engine room for growth in the region, we’re confident that Square will continue the trend of benefitting from world-class research and top-rate technology talent from the University of Waterloo to fuel their Canadian expansion,” said Hamdullahpur.
