Well its almost a done deal, Dara Khosrowshah is just few steps away from becoming the next CEO of ride-sharing company, Uber.    Dara is still the CEO of Expedia, but Barry Diller, Chairman of IAC (which owns Expedia) sent an internal memo to Expedia staff to officially let everyone know that Dara will be leaving the compny.  Since IAC is  public company an official letter was also sent to the SEC about the leadership change.
Dara was born in Iran and came to the United States as a child, he grew up in New York and is a US citizen, now 48 and has been running Expedia for the last 12 years.

Dara Khosrowshahi Has A Strong Connection To Canada

Dara is the nephew of Hassan Khosrowshahi, who was presented with the Order of Canada in June 2015. He also launched Future Shop back in 1982 (eventually sold to Best Buy) for $500 million in 2001.
