This week Walmart Canada announced the appointment of Gonzalo Gebara to the position of President and CEO, effective January 30, 2023.
Gonzalo joined the world's largest retailer back in 2000. During his career, he has held roles across Finance, Strategy, eCommerce, Marketing and Operations, in positions of increasing responsibility. Additionally, he has worked with teams across multiple markets, including the United States, Argentina and Chile, driving critical business outcomes.
Prior to the move he was CEO for Walmart Chile, he a number of senior level roles there including Chief Administration Officer Walmart Chile & Argentina, Chief Merchandising Officer, and Chief Operations Officer.
Gonzalo takes over for Horacio Barbeito who left back in June to become the President & CEO of Old Navy.
