It is no secret that cannabis marketing in Canada is a tough thing, due to the current Cannabis Act.  There are very strict restrictions related to the price and distribution of cannabis which means that brands have become even more creative with ideas and strategies.  J.R. Strain, a leader in the aeroponic cannabis growing method recently launched their latest campaign that pushes the boundaries of cannabis marketing.

Dispensaries across Canada are flooded with cannabis products and a growing number at a rate three times faster than sales (+74% compared to +23%). Success can't solely rely on the off-chance of retailer recommendations - investing in brand-building is the key to standing out amidst the crowd.

As part of their most recent campaign J.R. Strain, focused on their Rootsuit—a 7-foot garment designed to captivate audiences and set the bar higher for creative expression.

In the Toronto market, J.R. Strain’s average weekly sales increased by 51% in the last four weeks compared to June when the brand launched in Ontario. They also saw an additional 38% jump when the brand activated with the RootSuit at KIND Summer Fair in Toronto on July 12 and 13. Ontario as a whole has seen an overall growth of 39% since the program launched with an additional 14% directly tied to the KIND event. The brand has now sold out of the recent product drop twice. Overall, the Greater Toronto Area grew +6% in total sales in Ontario with other Ontario regions growing on average 1.86%.
