Tyrrell Schmidt

TD has now confirmed that Tyrrell Schmidt has been named Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for TD Bank Group.

After splitting with then CMO Betsey Chung, the bank appointed Tyrrell as interim CMO in July.

In the new role, she will lead a diverse and talented team to advance the Bank’s strategic focus on customer obsession, driving growth through meeting customer needs, and championing our world-class, iconic brand.

Over her close to 9 years with TD, Tyrrell has held a number of senior roles including EVP, US Chief Marketing Officer; Global Brand and Customer Experience Officer; VP, Global Brand, Customer Insights, Experience and Innovation; and Global Head of Brand, Advertising and Sponsorship.

What does this mean for TD?

Tyrrell is a true global marketer having lived and worked Europe, Asia, Canada and the US.  Her senior roles have includes positions in marketing and general management positions in the financial services and healthcare organizations such as Cigna, Discover Financial Services.  She has successfully been breathing marketing for over 20 years;
