As things start to return to “normal,” you are probably looking for new ways to engage with audiences. Maybe a cool way to host an event to launch a new product. Perhaps you are ready to raise the brand awareness for you company? You have seen successful experiential marketing campaigns before, but now you are ready to hire an agency. Here are (5) tips to help you hire an Experiential Marketing agency.

1. Experiential Track Record

Does the potential agency have a working understanding of client needs?  Who are the clients your chosen agency works with regularly? Have they maintained those relationships? What success has the agency had in creating and executing campaigns in the past? Check available sources to learn more about the agency.

2. Meet the Team

Nothing is worse than being pitched by the team and then having them pull a bait and switch. Meet the agency team you want to work with. Make sure you like them. Make sure you like the way they work and engage with your brand. How creative are they? Do they respond to your messages in a timely manner? Make sure you’ve met the team before you get into a long-term relationship.

3. Relationships with Media

Chances are your experiential activation is part of an overall campaign, a campaign that you will want to be covered by media. Does the potential agency have a strong relationship with media, and can get this campaign covered in their publication?

4. Experience in your Industry

Look for an agency with experience in your particular industry. There can be a pretty steep and expensive learning curve for agencies working with brands or services that are unfamiliar with your industry. Cultural sensitivity and a thorough understanding of the niche is an absolute must when it comes to working with certain brands or services.

5. Share your needs, your expectations, and your vision for the future.

Every relationship is a two-way street. For your part as the client you have be clear about your needs (today, and tomorrow). The only way for an agency to properly deliver value is they are 100% clear on your needs.
