Canadian summers are short, with only 13 weekends this year, making every moment precious. The pressure to make the most of the sunny season is palpable, and when plans don’t go perfectly, it can be disappointing. By early July, an alarming 40% of Canadians reported that their summer had not met their expectations.

Canadians can make a “claim” at QuePasaSummerBummer.ca until September 3rd by sharing what mishaps have caused their summer to turn into a bummer - whether it’s traffic on your road trip, sold-out concert tickets, or a BBQ with a side of burnt. Eligible entrants will be entered to win 1 of 36 prizes to put towards recovering a precious summer moment that didn’t go as planned, including:
- One (1) grand cash prize of $5,000 CAD
- Ten (10) $250 CAD cash prizes
- Twenty-five (25) $100 CAD cash prizes
With each “claim” submitted, Que Pasa will donate $10 to its program partner the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS), up to $50,000, to support conservation efforts and raise awareness about the importance of protecting Canada’s natural landscapes.
The campaign, which was designed to bring the well loved Canadian brand back to the zeitgeist through inspiring conversation, humour and by creating a new connection with consumers, will be supported by OOH, owned social, PR, experiential marketing, and influencer content using the hashtag #ChipHappens, and is in partnership with a number of strategic partners.
