Ad- Grow My Agency

Google can’t seem to get a break, as it finds itself in another legal battle — this time with the Canadian government.  Following Google’s closing arguments in its ad stack case against the US Department of Justice (DOJ) last week, Canada announced plans to sue the tech giant for anticompetitive practices in advertising technology.

Similar to the DOJ’s allegations, Canada’s Competition Bureau claims Google illegally bundled its ad tools to dominate the ad ecosystem. The Bureau’s application to the Competition Tribunal seeks measures that include requiring Google to divest two ad tech tools, pay penalties for compliance with the Competition Act, and prohibiting further anticompetitive conduct.
