Last week, Omnicom Group Inc. reported its third-quarter 2026 financial results; this follows its massive acquisition of IPG in the fall of 2025.   CEO John Wren confirmed that Omnicom is firmly on track to deliver $900 million in cost-reduction synergies in 2026.

The company has enjoyed several account wins across the globe, and several wins for the Canadian team that Canadian Ad Insider covered here, here, and here.

So what is next for Omnicom?

During Omnicom's Q3 2026 earnings call on October 22, 2026, CFO Phil Angelastro explicitly stated, “We want to get back into acquisition mode,” signaling a major strategic pivot. After nearly a year of focusing entirely on integrating the $13 billion Interpublic Group (IPG) mega-merger, Omnicom is preparing to shift from selling off non-core assets to hunting for new growth targets.

If that comes true, Shelley Smit and the team here in Canada will have a few more late nights.
