The US administration signed an executive order approving a proposed deal that would keep TikTok alive in the U.S. The deal satisfies the requirements of a national security law mandating that China-based ByteDance sell TikTok’s U.S. operations or risk a ban in the country, according to the executive order. Under the agreement, which still requires approval from China, a new joint venture will manage TikTok’s U.S. business, with ByteDance holding a stake of less than 20%.
Now, we are not saying he was in the room or knew ahead of time what was coming down the line, but it is interesting timing for Joshua Bloom and Nik Djuk.
