TikTok Canada has carried a major question mark beside its name ever since the Government of Canada ordered the foreign company to “wind down its operations."  The social network invested significant effort in lobbying its case, and it appears that this work has paid off, as TikTok and the Canadian government have now reached an agreement that will allow TikTok to continue operations in Canada.

The platform will implement enhanced protections for Canadians' personal information, including new security gateways and privacy-enhancing technologies to control access to Canadian user data.
